If you want, I would just get 460 SLI, if you already hav 1 460. It would make more sense as even though you dont have the option to add alot more power like the 570SLI, you wont need that much power if you plan to play games like MW3.
Well OP, I agree with this.
But you want a gpu boost the cheapest route to take right now is SLI You can leave everything stock and see how she does but you'll be stretching it.

OT: I am kind on the same boat as you, I have one GTX 470 I have the psu for SLI and everything but I would have to get a water block for SLI and all that jazz. So I am waiting for the new stuff to come out and knowing that Nvidia will be breaking out the low~mid range stuff first with the 6 series I am kinda holding out. But I am for sure looking at either a 570 or something in the same specs from ATI, it's hard to choose.
Anyways that's enough with that.

Try out SLI, you may get some issues or you may not going with sli.

most games i run are flawless, no lagg @ all, i was planning on waiting till black friday, and getting a nice GTX5xx series depending on the deal, dont want the radeon as they seem to make more noise/heat faster.

I think a 570 is about as fast as a 480 minus the power draw and heatt.. a 560 is prolly like a 460 or something.

With Corsair AX1200 PSU tests with wattage measured from the wall with a Kill-A-Watt meter. Also, the total while running Prime 95 and FurMark with 16x MSAA at 1920 x 1200 is 925W.

Then, with the i7 950 from idle to max load (393W):
171W

334W

Overclocked GTX 460 1GB SLI (768W):

925W Actual vs. 939W Calculated
You are seriously over calculating. a quality 550 watt PSu should handle all of that. and then some

would you guys consider getting 2 new gtx 460 1g , would be around $225-250 total, or getting a normal GTX 560 TI OC
well I have the Msi OC version and it runs very very well.

depending. look at this review the regular 560 ti Usually wins by 4-10 frames. the 560ti OC usually beats the regular ti by 10 frames. but it really depends.

if you go down the 1 card route got with GTX 480 or if you can 570. if its out of range for you go with the 560ti

The thing to keep in mind about SLI is that while your total fps increases, your effective ram doesn't. So if your image quality settings demand more gpu ram than 768mb - your fps will suffer whether you have one or two cards. Still this card in sli performs well.

If you decide to pick up a second one I wouldn't wait - Newegg only had two models left.

go for a single GTX 580 it will perform almost as much as Sli GTX 460 only a matter of 10% to 15% boost which u can overclock and get and if u go for a Sli GTX 460 the power consumption is 320watts whereas a GTX 580 pulls in 244watts at max
Hope that help
