Q6600 and mushkin DDR2

Thread Starter
Q6600 ran at 3.6 24/7 @ 1.375 V with low temps, usually in the thirties to forties depending on ambient temps and loads.

Mushkin Accent 2X4 GB kit. Can update with model number later if you want. Though these were 1066 cl5 I believe. They have nice heavy heat spreaders on them. I was gonna swap them on my new kit though it would have killed the warranty on both sets

Also have a TRUE 120 heat sink with 775 mounting bracket only. I do also have some new fans that I could throw in to make the HSF more appealing. I have a high flow san ace, but it is really loud like 40+ db. Should be some others around as well, though I will have to check on that later.

Q6600- $70-80
TRUE 120 - $40-50 unless you can find that bracket, going to be a limited market for S775
2x4GB DDR2 - Still a pretty good market for that, I'd say $80-90.

The DDR2 market is indeed live and well. But iirc those ram modules were deactivated when their price was around $100. Good DDR2 though can go for as much as or more than some of the current mainstream DDR3 1600 CL9 kits, like the G.Skill Ripjaws X 8gb kits.

Yeah I know... I just checked out Newegg and the cheapest 2x4gb ddr2 set is going for $130. If you're using an AMD CPU and have a ddr2 motherboard, you could get a DDR3 8 GB set and a DDR3 capable motherboard for a little over half of that! Craziness!

Its all about supply and demand. If one wants cheap DDR2, check fleabay and get them non brand chinese ram, YMMV.

For brand names DDR2, the price will just flat line since there are users still using older machines.

I remember selling my old Corsair DDR1 LEDs 512mb x2 (1gb) for like $45 last spring. lawl

Thanks for the replies so far. All prices seem quite fair.

Cannot remember what revision the TRUE is. Bought it boxing day in 07, if a timeline helps.

He pretty much nailed it, but I was going to say ~$25 for the TRUE. Still a good sink but there are other cheap alternatives now that come close.
