Over clocking questions??? 2.8 to 3.5ghz - Page 3

960/1350 is way too high. Even 900 core could be to high. And prime95 is only considered "stable" after 12+ hours.

f@h client?

I am going to see if the video crashes though when I rerun the assessment test once I see if I pass the blend test on Prime 95.

ok heres what I have, ran Prime 95 on the blend test, after about the 2 hour mark maybe 2 1/2 hours, got the blue screen of death.

This is the error code from the box that popped up after it restarted wanting with the check for solution;

BCCode:124
BCP1:0000000000000000
BCP2:FFFFFA8004B90028
BCP3:00000000B672C000
BCP4:0000000000000175
OS Version:6_1_7600
Service Pack:0_0
Product:256_1

During the restart process I decided to decrease the clock back to 229 so I am now running at a 3.2 GHZ again.

You could try 240 or 235 instead of 229 all of the sudden. A finetuned OC is achieved by taking baby steps

I aint sure how the OC is, I was under the assumption the OC had to be near even like 3100 mhz and what not and not something like 3395 or whatever number is pulled.

But should I stay in increments of 5? Will 240 work better than what I had it before at 243?

You don't need even numbers when you OC a chip. Mine is just stable at that 238MHZ for instance, with that multiplier of course.
It could work, but i can't guarantee it. Will be less stressfull than 243MHz, but more than 235

Since you don't have a BE chip you can't adjust the multi, so you'll have to work with small FSB increments. If you can't get stable at 240KMHz, try something a little less as 235 for isntance. If it is stable this way, you may try 2-3MHz more, even though it won't make such a difference

It ca be adjusted, but in your chip you go as high as x14 :/ A BE chip would allow you to try multiple combinations of FSB vs. multi, or only multi.
If you had a higher speed ram kit, you could try lowering multi and raising more the FSB for a similar total speed, but those DIMMs won't allow it much :/

ill test it out some more then.

going back to the video card, I tried out MSI combustor which did extreme test as preset on 1920x1080 settings and the scores came back as: SCORE: 3022 points (49 FPS, 130000 ms)

Which was a slight OC of 870/1230 Core to memory. Max temperature was 57c.

Should I try the burn in test?
