I have a Asus croshair V fomual with the X-FI 2 chip in it and audigy two pro in my closet. I am using the pc510s by tritton so they do not have a dolby box like the 720s. Im looking for something that will wound good with movies and games, The budget is not really clear for me yet so all recommendations are welcome. Just trying to get a clear mind on what to get then convince myself its in my budget. so lets here them.

I don't know about your sound card, so I would buy a Xonar DG, compare at the right settings and return it if you didn't hear anything special. Lots of headphones to choose from. I own BeyerDynamic DT990s. I bought them for $167 on Amazon. Some other options are Ultrasone PRO 550s or Audio Technica ATH-M50s. I wouldn't buy anything cheaper because you're going to be tempted later to buy something more expensive. Might as well save a step.

If the xonar DG does sound better to you at the right settings, you might feel tempted to get a more expensive sound card to see how it sounds. In my experience, which includes time with the Titanium HD and two Xonar Essence STX, the DG sounds just as good, but if you can buy an HD or STX from a place where you can return it, then go for it. The experience is worth it.
