Random nvidia driver crash - non-overclocked, STABLE gtx 580 ! (wow)

At the moment, the only game i have on my pc is world of warcraft, so i cant test the stability of my card with other games smile.gif Sometimes i can play for half an hour, 1.5 hour or only 5 min, and my wow will crash and id get the message "the driver has stopped working and has recovere". Now this message is familiar to me from overclocking, as it frequently occurs from unstable overclocked cards etc .. So naturally i thought my card was broken, since it did it at stock clocks! Then i ran 1 test of 3dmark 11 (cant loop, only basic edition) and it passed. Then i ran 55 min of burn-in test from kombustor, on max AA and full hd. NO PROBLEMS! it passed flawlessly! My card is equipped with a full wc block, and the max temperature on this kombustor run was 36 degrees, and so it is when i play wow.

What the hell is wrong? Can you confirm, that it is world of warcraft that is the cause of these driver crashes ? If so, i would be very happy since a gtx 4580 is expensive

Try uninstalling the 280.26 driver and revert back to 266.58 drivers. Also try disabling SLI to see if stability improves.

Well i dont think its quite the same issue - i have tried running one of the cards only, because i thought maybe sli could be the culprit but no. And here the driver acts as though my card is unstable, but the stress tests shows it isnt smile.gif performance is normal in 3dmark 11

I've seen similar problems around the forums, although everyone always gets the "driver recovered", where I don't with mine. My screens just go to sleep then never come back until I reboot frown.gif

Not sure if it's WoW related (only game I really play atm and seen it happen in). It's alot harder to test my system then yours in finding the coulprit smile.gif. Been trying for about a month now to figure out what wrong.

I've stressed test my whole system with no problems, go and play WoW, crashes at some point like you. Could be 5 min into the game, a couple hours or a few days later.
