Recommend me a SSD - Page 2

I went with this.

It is freaking awesome, and a great deal right now.

I benchmarked it AIDA64 and got 559 reads and 510 writes.
Plus with corsairs warranty and CS history and knowing an adapter was included was all I needed.

I love mine, but really, I think most any of them are going to be good. It is about latency and response time. I highly doubt you are going to notice a difference between 400 mb/s and 550 mb/s in normal every day use.

The exception would be if you do lots of read writes on larger files.

Off the top of my head I think it may have been the Marvell controllers that it didn't like??? Correct me if I am wrong.

If you want reliablity, M4 all the way. Its probably one of the few SSDs which price rose since it came out, as it is so good and so high in demand.

If you want speed, go with the Vertex3/Corsair Force/ 4pureoverkillz Revodrive >: )

Ok, you're wrong. biggrin.gif

The Intel p67 supposedly has the most frequent bsod bug rate. But people are also getting it with AMD and Marvell 6gb/s connections too.

I honestly think it's OCZ deflecting the blame for the drives long enough for Sandforce to fix it. Then all is forgotten.

I'll take Samsung tyvm. Reliability, speed and performance(without compression) where it counts. They are the only company that makes the complete product, and they have been developing the SSD for years. The new 6Gbps 830 series is due to hit stores any day. Must read-http://www.ocaholic.ch/xoops/html/modules/smartsection/item.php?itemid=595&page=11

Ok cool, I hadn't heard. The few items I did read a couple of weeks ago said that Intel was the most reliable, but then again, I don't know enough about those resources to call them trustworthy.

Thanks for letting me know. I will keep an eye on mine. It has been perfect up to this point.

I too have had history with a Samsung SSD. The 470 series US model with 128g. It is a solid drive, but definitely not as fast as my X-25m G2 drive. The Samsung is in my Asus laptop, and does well. I love their mechanical drives. Best drives I have used.
