@ MKHunt

does the soundtrack come with the game? if not ill happily buy it, ive gotten on a kick of collecting soundtracks lately (big surprise there lol)

Is Hawken one of the songs or is it a game? what's it like?

@ FreekyGTi

They are the rage right now, because they fill a perfect niche in the market and have an emphasis on supporting the little guys instead of the big corporations (which definitely fuels part of it)

you guys keep talking up Isaac i may not be able to wait for a sale!
Revenge of the Titans...love it love it. tough to, very worth it
Braid was released a while ago wasnt it, i never checked it out then but ill look it up now for sure.
Havent heard of Osmos, but curious now thanks!
LOVE Super Meat Boy, but impossible on the keyboard lol, i laugh myself sick playing that game because i die so much, need to buy a controller (if i could find one out here...bah)

Thanks for listing the games! and also thanks for the link. If you have more you have enjoyed please share

The soundtrack used to be in a combo with the game for $20 IIRC. Steam has it for $9.99, the dev has it for $10 (and you can get FLAC )

Hawken is a different game. It seems to be the soul-successor to the MechWarrior franchise since the MW reboot seems to have disappeared as well.

And heck, I'm already on the youtubes, so here is this Trine thing you've been hearing about.

I picked up Isaac last night. Loving it, thanks to whoever reviewed it. It's like Links Awakening again lol except just the dungeon parts.

Bindings if Isaac is one of the most awesome games I have played this year, hell I've played this more than the BF3 Beta although this has mostly to do with the crap map Dice has given us but still it say something.

You just cant get enough of it and in the early hours of the morning I'll go for one more try only to find myself playing for hours more.

Highly recommended.

A few more indie recommendations:

Blocks that Matter: a cute puzzle platformer with a unique twist of drilling blocks and using them in different ways.

And Yet It Moves: One of my all time run and jump favorites, the main game mechanic is that you can rotate world around your character to progress and solve puzzles.

Defy Gravity: 2D platformer. You're a guy with a jetpack and a special gun that fires orbs that either attract matter (including yourself if you wish) or repulse it. Almost feels like a faster paced 2D version of portal.

Zeit Squared: Side scrolling space combat game with the unique game mechanic of the necessary use of time travel to defeat foes.

Addition recommendations for Osmos, Trine, Frozen Synapse that have already been mentioned.

@ TFL Replica

i played the demo for Blocks that Matter and "cute" is the right word for it. i like their new idea, but i guess im not right brained enough it took me a bit to figure out the puzzles without the walkthrough. sad eh? enjoyed the music though. drill sound was like the dentist drill *shudder*

I havent checked out And Yet It Moves yet, knew the name but when i heard the concept i wasnt so interested. but if it's a favorite of yours ill look it up. sounds like VVVVVV was made up but with 4 ways and not just 2.

I saw the trailer for Defy Gravity when i was browsing demos lol, looks cool but i wasnt interested enough to try it. if you say it's worth it though ill check it out

Played the demo of Zeit Squared last night in fact. the time travel was a really interesting factor. also using your shields for life and your ammo with all the enemies stealing from it if you dont kill them is a cool mechanic as well.

Yeah i have Osmos, Trine and Frozen Synapse on the "to try out" list

cant wait for some free time to do it!

Thanks again mr Replica!
