Indie games...cant get enough!! - Page 7

If you guys REALLY love indie games then you might want to check out Desura's (steam but for indie games) alpha funding initiative for indie games/ developers. With this you can buy a copy of the game still in development and get an alpha version to try out. The developers are really good at putting new version out and its nice to help a small studio of developers make some amazing games. Another plus is that most developers on there are going to make the game available to you on steam when its released! So far I've only bought Project Zombiod and Survivors of Ragnarök (buggy but has some amazing pixel art) with plans on picking up King Arthur's Gold and a few others. This is the perfect way to help new developers make games that will probably end up being better and funner then most triple A titles.

On an related note, I picked up orcs must die a few days ago and can't wait until the 14th, also picking up Dungeon Defenders with a friend, looks like awesome fun. I just have to get away from the old republic beta long enough to play them .

@ joelmartinez
i did a quick try of smb on my laptop keyboard and it was a horrible fail, couldnt get the coodination going enough to not fail and die. no worries though.

bother about Terraria...was afraid of that, we'll see when it comes on sale then. thanks dude

@ xBISHOPx
i do have the link for Desure now, but didnt know about the alpha funding initiative, sounds VERY cool! Would be fun to help out as well.
thanks for lettin us know about it
ill also check out those games you linked

great news about OMD
yeah Dungeon Defenders looks like a sweet game, cant wait to see how it turns out. Very tempted to buy it, but ill wait till i finish up some other games.

like Terraria, it looks like most fun when you have buddies playing with you, oh well though. TD is awesome in every way

oh question though about Dungeon Defenders.. when you look on the page on STEAM it has a "Steam exclusive" which features the TF2 guys to use as weapons (or something not sure how to describe that) do you guys know if that is restricted to pre-order or not?

edit:
Last bit i swear lol. but i have to admit that with 62 posts and counting i view this thread a small success hehe

It looks like a pet that fights with you. I'm assuming you'll get pets that help fight, buff, or heal you. I'm pretty sure these can only be had through pre ordering the game by buying it before release. They might even just be skins of "pets" you get in game (reason for the "" is because I'm not sure if there are any or if thats what they'll be called) If you get in on a 4 pack its only about $10 each and you all get the portal gun/ tf2 "pets".

Edit: Also the links I put on my last post all have demos so you can try the games out and see if you like them.

interesting deal with the pets..going to see if i can dig up more info on that later.
simply put they are cool as hell, and i think this game is worth the the full $15. im just on the fence for preordering simply because i already have a whole list of games to play, and i'd like to see reviews first.
going to dig up more gameplay videos if they exist then.

thanks for info man, and also the links to the demos. cant check them out yet (work computer) but will for sure later

righto guys, time to make this thread bigger!!

or wonder if i should make a whole new one..that way i could reserve the first few posts.

anywho... the aim is to create the " [Unofficial] Indie Game Information & Discussion Thread "
Going to have more info on the games, screenshots, official reviews and reviews from people here, current prices, links to developer websites, links to retail sites, and generally a bigger list of games. ill also do what i can to keep track of big specials such as humble bundles or indie packs on Steam.

if you guys approve lemme know! still good question, would this be better as a separate thread or shall i just edit post #1 here?

A new thread sounds like a great idea. You have my full support.

i was going to recommend you turning this thread into an indie game thread...being thats pretty much what it is...but starting a new thread or using this one...i do agree we need an indie game thread

Limbo was so awesome. I literally couldn't stop playing it until I beat it.
