Bro, the i7 (or any Intel CPU) uses truncated server uarch in their chips. Intel chips work really well on one thing, really fast.
Thats it^.... nothing more, nothing less.
Secondly, Intel's chips are not designed for an OS, or for new OS to make the most use of multi-threading. That is why Intel themselves are coming out with Ivy Bridge, to address consumer CPU's. Same reason why Intel (in the future) are coming out with 8 core CPUs. They realize they cannot keep trying to push off server chips on consumers.
Coincidentally, the same reason BAPCo is irrelevant to home users.
AMD is not making truncated server chips for home users, they designed a new architecture that the Windows environment (ie: OS) can use efficiently!
