I wonder what happens when we get X79 Xeons... Those are the CPUs i am waiting for. Good for AMD to ( probably ) beat the 2500K but when LGA2011 rolls out, *ouch* AMD *ouch*

I'd say BD is a great value but the ultimate performance crown remains with Intel.
This, also, i lived in Kingsbay, Georgia, and have been to Brunswick many a time. Just thought it was cool to see someone close to where i used to live.

Also, i don't see why some are saying its a failure, BD seems to have caught up AMD to close to or at Intel standards, i would say that is a pretty big achievement since AMD has been behind since the Core 2 series.

Pretty much expected. Would have been nice, however, if they used the same amount of ram + default ram speed for bulldozer (they used 1600, bulldozers IMC is rated for 1866 default).

Most part ?!

It is only faster than i5 2500 in multi-threaded applications, and not by much

Core for core i5 2500 is much faster. i5 2500 is much faster than Cinebench-10 single-threaded according to article

We start with Cinebench-10. And here we get a core 4074 issues. Approximately 1.5 times less than an Intel core so (both the 2600 and the i5 i7 2500 get about 5800 points. An 'old' i7 965 is around 4900 points)

X79 Xeon's are going to be super expensive. I'm waiting for the 8 core E5's and they should start around 1400

Seems like a bad review, to be honest. Or at least a really basic one. I'll wait for TPU and other trustable sources.

That is silly. If somebody is using a multi-core CPU in an application that has multi-thread support, why not utilize? It is like buying a Ferrari for the track and then driving around it at 30mph.

Hurray someone remembers those days. I really didn't enter until after AMD fell behind.

And it's said to see people tearing AMD down in this thread already.

Overall tho, not a bad chip to be honest.
AMD's last generation CPUs run games as good or better than Intel's current generation chips. AMD's next generation chips will do even better. Simple fact.

AMD vs Intel in BF3 thread
Intel does better at benchmarks, but I don't play benchmarks.
