Hi Travis,

Two quick questions:

1. Are you located in California?
2. Are you within a reasonable distance of a Micro Center store?

CPU cooler: Corsair A50 $16 after $15 mir

Nobody is including a copy of Windows in their build. Am I to assume you've already purchased a copy of Windows? If you haven't, then I'd like ask another question: Are you currently in school (or know someone who works at/attends a university/JC)? If so, you can pick up a copy of Windows on the cheap over at the Microsoft education store. $30 for Windows 7 Professional.

[edit]

Price has gone up this month, drat. Still a pretty good deal though at $65:

So if anyone whose more experienced, please comment. THANKS!
As has been said, if you wait for the bulldozer CPUs to come out and the 7xxx video cards, you could see a drop in the price of 69xx cards and 1090T or phenom IIs. Get 8gb of ram, it's cheap. Also, if you're going to be gaming you want to put your money into (in this order)
1) Motherboard
2) CPU&GPU
3) Ram

make sure you get a mobo that is going to be futureproof(ish) aka 990x if you're going amd

Hey OC, this is my build I sent to him. Basically the same build, I mostly gave him an outline of what to post. But, I did make a quick 10 minute intel wishlist. Really quick. But, with the amount of budget, I would agree going sandy bridge and probably i5/i7. 8GB ram is good for him, because I think he'll do some photo editting, not sure. Otherwise, isn't 4 GB ram good enough for gaming? And most definitely a 6000 series graphics card! Here's the link to that intel wishlist, i slammed together... http://secure.newegg.com/WishList/Pu...umber=12672769

Yeah, usually ddr3 1600 cl9 is basically the same price if you shop around a bit.

These are cheaper than the ones you listed amir for example. Why not?
