The 550 will play most games at medium to high settings with ok frame rates. I would say it would be perfect for somebody not looking for a ton of GPU power.

For just a bit more than the average 550ti, you can get one of these ... a sick card at $139.99 after MIR w/free shipping. This will blow a 550ti out of the water ... that's what I'd do in your shoes.

I used EVGA for years but decided to give ASUS a try with my last build and have been really happy with ASUS. I've decided to stick with them for now. They're both good companies that make great products.

i have been using mostly evga products for several years. Hell, i have an early version of the x58 classified still pumping life. So i vote for evga

Asus 550TI DC are very good.

Either one, One is not better than the other, Just depends on the person, Some people like EVGA, some ASUS.

Preferably i like ASUS just cause they make great products , Like my monitor for example.

I’d definitely choose EVGA over Asus. Asus has terrible customer support, whereas EVGA has amazing support. You get a 3-yr warranty with EVGA, not with Asus. Additionally, EVGA products have always lasted longer and are more reliable, from my experience, than Asus products.

Get this one:
