Thinking about getting a new case…

Hola everyone!
I was just wondering if you guys could help throw around some recommendations for a new chassis. I really enjoy the sleek/professional look of the Corsair Obsidian series, but I am trying to venture outside the four-walls or Corsair. I am looking for a full-tower case where I potentially have the option to water-cool in the future. This is something that I am learning on a day-to-day basis and will eventually want to do. For budget, I am looking into spending no more than $250 for a case. I know a lot of nicer ones can cost anywhere from $399.99+, but I don’t think I can justify spending that much on a case. Please allow me to pick your brain OCN

To sum up, I am basically looking for:
- A Full-tower case with lots of space for expansion
- Sleek & simple design similar to something along the lines of a Corsair Obsidian
- Budget friendly so my wallet won’t take too much damage

If all else fails, ill probably end up getting an Corsair 800D

I just ordered a 650D myself...

I love my Silverstone FT02 but it doesn't water cool so well. Some people have done it by laying a large radiator along the bottom of the case. I think it is the best air cooling case out there. I never plan on water cooling so I'm fine with that.

Similar style to the 800D. Black, no nonsense, minimalist styling.

Plenty of room for expansion, simple design and only $219.99.
I believe it room for radiators up to 420mm

650D is a mid-tower case, he asked for a full tower.

I'd say the 800D is your best bet considering what you're looking for.

Other things that come to mind are Fractal Design and Silverstone cases, and the Coolermaster Cosmos.

I know, I was kind of hinting on getting the 800D.

thanks everyone! I really appreciate all the feedback you guys are tossing out.
So far I think the best alternate to an Obsidian would be the Silverstone FT02. I always found the rotated mobo style to be very unique and definitely has my interest with trying to water-cool it.
The Phantom does have a very nice interior design. Very big with lots of room for expansion. It is not a huge issue, but I wish the front cover was little less alien-ish.

I haven’t really looked into anything Fractal Design related, but I will be checking them out. Any specific cases I should be looking at in particular?

Define XL

Most of their other cases are mid-towers or smaller.

water cooling a FT02 is like building a hydro electric plant in the Mojave desert... FT2 was engineered from the ground up to be the best air cooled case. putting liquid in there makes no sense. if you put the liquid on the bottom like what they suggest, you'd be pumping hot air right into your case over your video cards and a good amount of the heat will also be sucked into the PSU...

if you prefer liquid, go coolermaster. they are cheaper and better designed for liquid. they are dusty, but at least it'll hold the rad.
