At the end of the day this machine should be lightning fast with high benchmarks and what I'm getting is sub par performance,
With ~30° ambient you cant expect 20°C idle temps.
And this:

I am not sure what you mean by lightning fast but you CPU is stock so that is making me more sad than just low benchmark score. This CPU CANT @STOCK. Face it, it needs 4.5GHz.

30c ambient is pretty high and as stated, will contribute to your temperature "issues". That said, your temps are well within reason. With that ambient, you will likely not see any gain by switching to a dual loop.

I don't think your water loop has anything to do with the other problems stated. See if there are any firmware updates for your SSD. My system had weird stutter issues and turned out to be my Crucial SSD's firmware.

You do have a pretty restrictive loop, but the dual D5s should be ok for it. Ideally you want to be around about 220l/h though.

I'll definately be overclocking it but atm I'm trying to fix what basically amounts to my own flawed understanding of what I have done wrong.

Most of these problems are likely results of my failing to understand the material I am working with.
This was pretty much my first time water cooling so I spent about half a year researching it before buying.
To be fair the pc boots and runs games just fine but benchmarks indicate I'm not properly leveraging my systems potential.

I have attempted to overclock but it went badly so I'm trying to correct my understanding of that seperately atm.

The problem is I think largely what I am doing wrong rather than faults with the kit and so I'm trying to if you like simplify the issue for myself.

OK:
- your SSD might causing the crashed and what the heck not.
- your watercooling is just fine, atm
- your stock settings are fine, atm.
So everything is just fine except:
- your SSD (whatever you did to the configuration in BIOS and/or firmware)
- your attitude!
Man you are much to "rude" to yourself!
Come down, ask some questions about your SSD in the SSD section.
If we / you fixed this problem then we / you can o.c. your CPU and everything will be fine.

Well, here are a couple points to remember regarding water cooling (and air for that matter). Note that these are for stock clocks, while the CPU is idle.

1. Your water temps cannot go below ambient without assistance (chiller)
2. Expect about 2c delta between ambient and your actual water temp
3. Additional blocks may each add 1c to the water temp when idle
4. With a good block and mount, expect your core to be another 3-5c above water temperature

I really don't think you're doing anything wrong with your loop. Just that your 30c ambient temperature is affecting your computer temps. Those temps are not affecting the other issues you mentioned however.

Pumps are 2 x Koolance PMP450S plugged into the RP452X2 res. All bitspower compressions using 90degree on the rads and the rest mainly straight.
Are you using a controller to push a full 24V to the PMP-450S pumps or are they running with 12V?

Cheers fella, you did make me laugh
I do get pretty frustrated with myself when I can't understand something.

Think what I am best doing from taking on everything you guys have said is:

1. Get a second install of windows on my HDD and flash the SSD. Will have a poke in the SSD section about doing this.
2. Shift the GPU's to match up what the asus manual says are the correctly matching slots.

It is really good to know that I'm more or less imagining a problem though, feel alot better knowing what I have is actually perfectly normal. Can save that money for a NAS!

Anyway cheers guys, you've all been really helpful.

can't advise you on your cooling but if you really suspect your ssd is causing you headaches, too, then discard it. use your hdd as your boot drive for now. don't suffer anymore. rma the damn thing.
