EDIT: In case you've never seen this video, it just prove how little we are in this huge universe :

http://youtu.be/0fKBhvDjuy0?t=13s
Your video is exactly why it doesn't matter if you would send a telescope further in outer space. Even if it was traveling at the speed of light it would be a very long time before anything looked any different.

It shows two galaxies colliding in a view no other telescope on Earth or in space could capture.
They don't know this so how can they say it.

The wavelength of the electromagnetic spectrum they are working at is minimally affected by atmospheric absorption and scatter. This means that there is little practical advantage to putting such an array in space.

Also to an earlier post - the Antennae Galaxies are something like 15Mpc away - or roughly 50 million light years. Also, although Andromeda and the Milky Way will collide, it won't be for a few billion years (forget the relative velocities) and even when they do there will be almost no stellar collisions: there is just too much space between the stars. The biggest worry in that situation is that the solar system could be gravitationally kicked by a passing star, but that could happen within our own galaxy as well, so it will just be an amazing light-show.

That picture is amazing, I wish it actually had those colors to them, space would look amazing if the night sky had colors like that in it.

If only we could see more than the visible light spectrum with our eyes, everything would look so much different.

Which we learnt in school science is radiation at a certain frequency! Technically, that should be how it looks... I absolutely cannot wait to see what else they can take awesome pictures of

edit: wow thats what my 200th post is.

OT: pondering the vastness of the universe leaves me almost breathless.

We should just forget everything else and dump all of mankinds resources into space travel and exploration.
