Think about that for a minute...

Radio signals cannot travel faster than the speed of light.

The images from the telescopes are transmitted via radio signals.

If you send a telescope 1 lightyear towards another galaxy, then it is also 1 lightyear further from the earth.

Nah. We don't actually "see" any exo-planets. We only infer that they're there by measuring the periodic dimming of a star's light when planets pass between the star and us.
