iPhone 4S or New Gen Android

Thread Starter
I'm able to get a new phone anytime I want and I need help deciding between the iPhone 4S or something like the SGS2/Nexus Prime.

I have the iPhone 3G and its garbage right now but I've never had a problem with iOS. All the android phones seem like they have better hardware but the OS seems kind of sub-par especially with iOS 5 coming out.

So inferior hardware/better OS or optimal hardware/inferior OS ?

Why not WP7? I'll be upgrading to that in a month when the Focus S comes out. I, too, have a 3g. I've played with all three systems and I fell in love with WP7.

Windows phones don't have as powerful cpu's but that's because they don't really need the power. The consequence of that is good battery life.

Play with them, see which you like best. I won't go WP7 because of the lack of apps.

I second WP7. I have one and it's awesome, lots of cool games and apps, XBox LIVE integration, and it has the fastest/smoothest UI of any smartphone I've seen.

Honestly I love both Android and iOS (I own an iPhone 4, Ipad 2 and a Droid X, Samsung Galaxy Tab 10.1). But go for the 4s, much better app selection and imo apps are what define smartphones. Android has a bit of catching up to do i terms of apps.

While I see where you're coming from, they aren't lacking anymore from what I've seen. There are 50,000 I think and you'll find what you're looking for with few exceptions

WP7 is awesome, but once again it's down to apps and app design which it is sorely lacking. Mango is amazing, WP7 would just be killer if it had more mango ready apps.

I'd say the "lack" of apps on WP7 is a good thing. You don't have 90,000 useless fart apps to sort through to find the good stuff.

Honestly I've never had too much trouble finding an app for something. Except for working QR readers, but since Mango was released that's now built into the OS and it works pretty well.

I really want to try out all the phones for a bit and wait for all the reviews to come in but I'm afraid when iPhone 4S drops on the 14th its going to sell out within the day, same with the Nexus Prime.
