iPhone 4S or New Gen Android - Page 4

I own the Galaxy S2 and I like it, the screen has great contrast and displays dark colors better than LCD's. This is a bad time to buy a phone to be honest, lots of new ones coming out. IF I had to buy a phone right now, I would borrow one from my friend till the newer phones come out.

In my opinion right now:

Top Picks: Galaxy S2 or Iphone4S. The S2 is sometimes too big for my pocket however the 4s screen is too small for my eyes. Only reason I like the 4s is the gpu and battery life, the cameras seem equivalent from what I've seen thus far.

I do agree that iOS is more refined than stock android, however I can refine my Android any way I want and I enjoy doing so.

Are these homescreens "refined" enough?

And why has no one mentioned swype? It's hands down the best way to type with one hand, as far as two hands I guess most phones are more or less the same.

-The icon-drawer button looks outdated. The embossed shadow on the arrow is pretty harsh too.
-The battery framework icon is bigger than the wifi bars and clock.

Second one:
-The 6 "side" icons blend in with the background again, mainly with the white text.
-The icon-drawer button looks outdated too, no one uses glossy orbs anymore. The orange background of it doesn't match any either, as it's less saturated than the wallpaper.
-Bokeh wallpapers are outdated too, people need to stop obsessing over it.
-Again with the battery framework icon.
-The other framework icons glow green which doesn't match with anything else (also blue and orange is a horrible color combo).

That's why they're not "refined."

Android ftw.

The new phones are insanely powerful - dual core 1.5ghz, 1gb ram, 8megapixel back, 2mp front, AMOLED+ screens, etc. Hell, there's one with no-glasses 3D AND a 3D camera. Also, android has more free apps than iPhone.

Also android allow for overclocking

But do they really need all of that ? Is android capable of using everything that's provided and if they are so powerful why even overclock ?

Exactly what I said earlier. The whole silly app argument is well exactly that, just silly.

That argument can go both ways.

Overclocking can provide better battery life in certain cases. Especially on a more optimized kernal than the stock. A buddy of mine was getting 22-25 hours of use on his 1GHZ overclocked Evo 4G on "normal" use (1hour on the phone, texting throughout the day, facebook always on, hour on the web).

LoseYourLife, how do you plan on using your phone? It really just boils down to that. Do you just want a phone to do exactly what its supposed to, on top of a few apps? Or are you looking for a phone that does all of that and allows you to customize everything but may run into issues if you were to screw something up?

EDIT1

Note: I did generalize that, but I'm sure you'll get the idea...

Comparing the two is a lot like comparing a Console and a PC.

Note 2: I also never put anything about jailbreaking as that conflicts with apps sometimes.
Not sure how true this stands as I dont have my iPhone 4 jailbroken, but when I had my 3GS jailbroken it became slow as a snail

EDIT2

If were comparing a stock Android phone vs a stock iPhone. I would take a iPhone.
When modded I would take a high powered Android phone.

You would definitely be missing a few of your essential apps. Those are the one's I remember being on the WP7 Marketplace. Not sure how much its changed in the last month or so.

Though changing from iOS to Android when it comes to Apps I know for sure is no where near the change when it comes to iOS or Android to WP7.
