is what im whanting to know is do i keep pushing it? or is there more to overclocking thin just uping the ghz?
max timp for this cpu is around 74c.

Keep going until your PC isn't stable anymore (Prime95 small FFT's fails), then up the voltage a notch until it's stable again. Then you OC some more.
Main thing is to keep the temps low, and if you can't get the PC stable you are probably pushing it too hard. Google around for average OC's for that CPU just to give you a base for what to aim for and good luck wink.gif

After googling a little I found out that people get it to about 4Ghz, then it tops out. They do this with about 1.55V.
You should be able to get 3.8Ghz with a decent mobo. And make sure the temps don't go too high

Take a moment to visit this link and fill in your system specs as best as you can. It makes helping out a lot easier when people can see your rig at a glance. Thanks cheers.gif

Second, I'm not familiar with that cooler but the in-game temps seem decent. And, that's a nice little oc at pretty low voltage. IF it's stable.... The only way you know an oc is fully stable is by testing it thoroughly. cpu, then RAM, then a Blend to make sure the entire thing is firing on all cylinders properly.

Fill in your specs so we can see what mobo you have and what RAM. Also, here's an old shot so you can see where my E7400 was most comfortable. (Attached). 4 GHZ took major volts and a major cooler to handle the heat. But, if that 3.4 is stable at that voltage, and the rest of your rig is up to the task, I think you can get 3.8 at less volts than it took me. The less volts it takes that E7400 to run stable at higher clocks, the higher you can go on that cooler....

Good luck.
