Please help motherboard or not!? - Page 2

You have to run it before entering windows so it can be efective. It should run a CHKDSK instance on your next reboot, or give you an option to.

open cmd and type chkdsk /f (there is a space inbetween the k and the forward slash) it should try to run and then prompt you to allow it to run on next start up

Ok ran that and there were no errors etc. finished my disk defrag, put in my parents hardrive, booted up just as slow, and couldn't play games cuz didnt have internet connection and couldnt get to the drivers, but yeah booting was just as slow and fast on theirs....

So what is it?
Reinstalled my CPU even to basic settings and still did the same thing..
So its motherboard or RAM... Right??

after you try the one from seagate try burning memtest onto a cd and run it at boot to test your ram

still cant figure out what the problem is, when i boot its fine, and loads up at decent times for a 5 year old harddrive, but its when i play games that i get like 19 frames going into any game, more specifically bfbc2 or something.. what should i do i cant figure out what the problem is, im about ready to throw the computer out the window,, ive been working on this thing now for 3 days and cant figure out what the problem is and it just started 3 days ago out of no where.

Sidenote just used my friends ram with the same speeds and i was getting the same thing... so its not the ram.
also i tried switching the video cards and only using one at a time to see if thats the problem, and its still doing the same thing.
do you think its a motherboard or CPU issue, but with that being said my cpu never goes above 45C

Finally fixed the problem!

Tried everything, and than i tried a system restore to the day i got my new 6970's and it fixed the problem instantly... wish i would have thought of that before doing all that work.
