if you just want the 7.1 surround sound asus pro has on board that supports 7.1 and yes don't get the 3GB model just wait till SLI and Noctua D14.

zotac card http://www.newegg.com/Product/Produc...82E16814500184
noctua http://www.newegg.com/Product/Produc...82E16835608018
a little more, but a bit more reliable

There realy wouldn't be any need to get a addon sound card unless you are doing audio intensive tasks like sound editing.... for gaming purposes, you will do fine with onboard audio.

if you are going to stick with 1 1080p monitor for a while still I would stick with the 1.5gb model, then go sli later on if you want overkill or decide to go to a higher resolution. The Noctua is a great cooler, and the sound card is up to you. There are cheaper models too, if you aren't sure about it but want to try one out. Asus makes one that is like $20-30, I think.

Here's that I have now:

Case = COOLER MASTER CM 690 II Advanced nVidia Edition ($100)
Power Supply = CORSAIR Professional Series HX850 ($164)
CPU = i5 2500k ($219)
Motherboard = ASUS P8Z68-V PRO = ($190)
RAM - G.SKILL Ripjaws Series X 8GB (2 x 4GB) ($51)
Graphics/video card = MSI GTX 580 Lightning ($525)
Hard drive = SAMSUNG Spinpoint F3 1TB ($60)
optical drive = ASUS 24X DVD Burner ($19)
Crucial M4 64 GB = $90
CPU Cooler= Noctua NH-D14= ($85)

I'm don't think I'm gonna get the zotac card because I like the cooler on the MSI Lightning, and I think it has better OC ability. And I've decided not to get the sound card since I'll just be gaming

Just, it's 4x as loud and takes up alot more space.

Yeah, I had a brick cooler before my H70, I prefer the H70.

If you're not OCing, you don't even need a custom cooler, and if you're looking for value that means you're definitely a 'play it safe' kind of guy. You'll be wanting to keep those warranties.

I will be overclocking, I'll be overclocking my CPU and GPU, and I'm not necessarily looking for persay "value," I'm just taking suggestions for any changes that might be better, but still cheaper or just a tiny bit more for much better performance, like the Corsair SSD vs the Crucial m4 one.
