My i5-2410m Stock paste vs MX-2 results

This is on a Lenovo Z370, HT and Turbo are both enabled. This is after 15 minutes of Prime95 blend

Stock Paste: Max temp 89 Degrees C

MX-2: Max temp 67 degrees C

That is an insane difference for a laptop. The stock lenovo paste was installed really badly though. Whoever installed it obviously tried to do it in 2-3 seconds. There was paste all over the paste, including close to the edges of the CPU where the pins are! I removed the paste and put a tiny bit of MX-2 and those are the results.

Just goes to show that manufacturer stock paste is horrible and for $3 you can really reduce temps. My heatsink doesn't even rev up as loud anymore with the new paste.

Nice difference. I have noticed that too on my laptop. Not that much of a difference though. I did upgrade the CPU as well. Went from a P7350 to a E8435...... lol

Is that just the initial difference or is that after a few cycles?

Are you going to file a complaint to Lenovo?

That's some crazy difference you got there. Nice job!

As soon as I booted my laptop up, I ran Prime 95. This is without letting the paste even cure-in.
