6 or 8 pins??

so this video card the evga classified GTX 570 has one 6 pin and one 8 pin power connector and the one below from amazon has two 6 pin power connectors on it I'm planning on getting 1(2?) 570s and i want to order extensions for the power cables and i need to know whats what because i don't want to have two pins extra hanging around in my case if i don't have to

EVGA says it requires a 8-pin and a 6-pin conectors

using additional cables/extensions increases power loss and decreases power efficiency. get the one with 8pin. does your PSU have direct connectors for 1 8pin and 1 6pin?
