MSI GTX 560ti Hawk SLI

Thread Starter
I know this has been asked many times over, but I would like your opinion on this matter.

I have a Antec TruePower New TP-650 650W PSU. I am wondering if I would be able to power 2 MSI GTX 560ti Hawk edition cards in SLI.

http://www.newegg.ca/Product/Product...60%20ti%20hawk

I went on MSI website and they recommend a PSU with 42amps and 700w of power.

Now this PSU is only 650w but 52amps combined. Would this be able to power the 2 cards plus my setup which I will list below.

http://www.newegg.ca/Product/Product...82E16817371021

CPU: Phenom II x4 955 oc to 4.0ghz NB-2600mhz
MB: GA-990xa-UD3
MSI GTX 560ti Hawk (want to get another)
Ram: 8gb G-Skill ripjaws 1600mhz
Sound: Asus Xonar DG
Mushkin 120gb SSD, WD black 750gb HDD
Optical Drive: LG
(9) 120mm fans (1) 230mm fan (1) 140mm fan.

Should I buy a different PSU with more watts and amperage or Would mine be able to run 2 MSI GTX 560ti Hawk edition Cards and my current OC?

The TX650W will probably be enough

Manufacturers generally over-estimate power requirements. That PSU will power your system just fine. Beside, it is only a 50 watt difference (less than a typical incandescent light bulb).

The power draw is overshot by MSI to cover their butts for when people run high end cards on terrible power supplies.

You will be more than fine.

Thank you all for your valuable insight. Now I wont have to worry about a PSU when I go and pick up the second card.

Yeah you're good even with a little overclocking.
