How is it doing? Are you stress testing it?

It's doing good I'm running the In-place FFTs test. Max CPU temp is 37C and max Mobo temp is 42C.

CPU-Z says my HT link is 2205.2 MHz. Do you think I should lower it to 1600 in the bios?

Thanks for the help again, this is exciting stuff, I could do it all night haha

It won't bring you extra performance having the HT Link as 2.2GHz, it works as the opposite in fact. Lower it to 1600 next time you're in the BIOS

2200Mhz is a tad high and 1600Mhz is too low, generally 2000Mhz +/- 100Mhz is where you want to be for max stability. I've actually seen signal degradation on 2200Mhz a few times with higher freq overclocks. Besides there is nothing gained by overclocking HT Link.

Also insure that you are reading the correct temps, see my guide for more information.

he's referring 1600MHz as the x8 multi mate his board shows speeds instead of the multi

Thanks for that link alucardvpr, I didn't know that. I've been using a program called Speccy, which is made by Piriform (think of CCLeaner). I guess I'll start to use CPUID's Hardware Monitor more now. Anyways right now my fsb is at 250, HT at 1600 in bios (2000 on cpu-z), vcore at 1.4, and cpu/nb multiplier at 10x. According to cpu-z my nb frequency is at 2500.2 MHz and my core speed is 3250.2 MHz.

Currently stress testing, seems to be running well
Hardware Monitor says core temps are at about 37C.

Also, I read somewhere that for my motherboard it doesn't really matter what the temps are as long as my CPU's temps are in a safe range. Is that true from your experiences?

Thanks guys

Well that wasn't stable, got a restart after a short while of stress testing. What should I do now? I'm hoping I won't have to boost the vcore anymore, I'd like this processor to last lol

You should keep your boards temps not very high too... 42-45C seems good to me. but excessives temps may damage components on the board.

Go back to 245MHz. If it's stable, try to go up 2 or 3 more MHz. Did you increase the CPU-NB voltage a little? to 1.225-1.25V?

I'm on 245 now and its still stable. I didn't increase the voltage for cpu-nb. what's that setting called? I see VDDNB Over Voltage, CPU VDDA Voltage, HT Over Voltage, Chipset Over Voltage, and SB Over Voltage.
