Just got a GTX 580 and I have an alienware aw2310, and the wireless glasses. I can't set up 3D. I've tried drivers, no idea how.

Help please.

Regardless of how stupid this question sounds - did you run the 3D Vision setup?

Go through the entire install of current drivers. If you installed the latest Nvidia Graphic Driver then if you right click on your desk top you will see Nvidia Control Panel as an option in the pop up.

Click Nvidia Control panel and go to "Set up Steroscopic 3D". Then check 'enable steroscopic 3D' box. Run ' set up wizard ' to walk you through the steps to check your glasses are set up correct and functional.

Games that are 3D functional usually have the option to ' enable 3D ' in graphic control options. You have to set those options for each game you want to 3D game in.

If you want to turn it off in games you have to re-set those options in games. You can also go back to the Nvidia Control Panel and disable 3D by unchecking 'enable steroscopic 3D'.

Another key point is to use the DUAL-DVI cord from your GPU to monitor. Comes with your monitor. I believe they are upgrading the driver to enable HDMI to work with it but I haven't tried. Stick with the DUAL-DVI cord. Will not lose clarity, resolution or degrade qaulity.

Hope this helps. BTW I have the same set up with EVGA GTX 580 SC and Alienware AW2310 OptX monitor

I played it in ultra settings in 2D then went back through the entire game in extreme settings in 3D vision. It's a blast.

I'm a Crysis junkie. Refreshingly different style of first person shooter. I love it and built the 'Crysis Cruncher' for it.

Edited to add - Oh Jeazy just noticed your pretty new, in case no one has said it yet....Welcome to OCN

Crysis 2 is a beautiful game. I'd suggest getting another 580 and 2 more AW2310's for some real fun! Don't expect 60fps in surround 3D though (especially with DX11 and high res textures) . Happy gaming
