P8P67 Pro with G. Skill Snipers is not reading correctly

Popped in these babies only to find some stuff wrong:

- The voltage is at 1.65v instead of 1.50v
- The timings were 11-11-11-27 (or 28)

In any case, I bumped the voltage down to 1.5v (which is the rating it says on the sticker), and lowered the timings to 9-9-9-24 (ditto). Was that the right way to do it or is there a "one-click" option that'll set the correct stats for the RAM?

Also, I'm running Memtest86 and notice that it's running @ 1605MHz instead of 1600MHz (in the BIOs, the "target speed" is 1600MHz). Is this normal (I know it's a small difference)

Thanks guys. Much appreciated.

Hey bud,

Did you set the XMP profile in the bios? That is the 1 click you are looking for.

Hey man, thanks for pointing that out!

However I did notice that when I booted into Windows, I noticed that Speedstep wasn't kicking in (was @ 3.4 GHz -- I'm @ stock). Is there a way to re-enable it, or just set the settings manually?

...Though when I do it manually, the speed on the RAM, per stick, is 802MHz (as opposed to the XMP settings that took it to 800MHz -- 800.2MHz to be exact).

If anything, I did notice that the CR changed from 1T to 2T, so I guess that's a pro for enabling XMP, haha. Although I did Memtest86+ for a bit on 9-9-9-24-1T, and it went smooth.

There is nothing wrong with the ram running a few MHz over. In fact, keep cranking up the speed on those babies till something goes wrong, then back off 5MHz or so and voila you have a faster system. This IS overclock.net....is it not?
