Li-ion battery just died.

Thread Starter
My 3yr+ Li-Ion pack just seemed to die when running routinely.

No voltage at all now. So maybe its just something minor with the circuits & worth fixing.

Looking for any battery gurus who can suggest what I should do, and if this is common & maybe fixable?

Given the sudden nature of the failure I would venture to say it is a dead controller circuit, but lithium batteries have a limited lifespan only about 3000 cycles. so if the battery is over 3 years old and gets a lot of use it probably doesn't have long left. You may be able to fix or replace the controller but i don't think that will really prolong the life of the battery much. Also to replace the controller you would have to take apart the battery which is usually held together by glue or barbs and is not meant to be taken apart. which means that you have to weigh it out the cost of a new battery vs the cost of a new controller plus the chance that the battery its self is just dead.
