It's not directed at everyone. Firstly, it's directed at people who do their own builds, as the blog clearly states, but that is besides the point here anyway. What is important is that right after 1. comes 2. where they tell you to check for the latest BIOS version. And you can only do that if you already have a previous generation AMD CPU to put in the motherboard you just bought. How is this directed at everyone ? An Intel customer doesn't have a Phenom or Athlon lying around just to boot the board and check for the latest BIOS while Bulldozer doesn't arrive.

As I said, this is directed at people who already own an AMD CPU.

Upon reading the article (read it twice), it's directed towards the general public, IMO.

It tells you exactly what to buy if you're currently not in possession of a 990 MB...

So, obviously, since I have a classified 3, it's good to know what to buy so that I'm still compatible with the new release.

IMHO...It was aimed at everyone whom didn't know what to buy for the new cores which, believe it or not, is most likely a plethora of people.

Read my answer above.

This AMD blog post published yesterday on the 6th and with only 5 days left (counting today) indicates more substantiated evidence to prove or supplement rumours concerning a October 12th nda embargo release and a possible release date. In addition we have reviewers with FX Press kits and shops with listings I would state that the review is quite close.

Bulldozer seems perfect for me...
  • 8 Cores
  • SSE 4.1,4.2,5 + AVX
  • Decent price
This makes compiling applications so much more easier Unfortunately I've already invested in a Bloomfield rig.
