Temps for 1055T overclock - Page 2

post #11 of 21
Thread Starter
Been running prime95 for the last 45min and no fail yet, looking more hopeful.

BIOS:

Core speed = 3.726GHz

CPU HT Ref = 265
DRAM = 1413MHz
CPU/NB = 2385MHz
HT Link = 2120MHz
vCore = 1.45v
CPU/NB voltage = 1.25v

CPU = 59c
Core (all 6) = 45c

I believe CPU actual will be in the region of 49c-52c so all seems ok.

Every chip is diffrent and will require different voltages for set clocks. You really can't compare yours to anyone else's. They don't have your chip. Out of 4 1090Ts that I tested this was the only one that could hit 4.5GHZ much less on 1.476v under load. The other three couldn't break 4GHZ without 1.5V.

As far as your temps go, your hitting 45C under load so that's fine, you should spot a pattern if the temps are slowly rising or if they are maxing out. Keep an eye means, don't flip it on and walk away for 24HRS - At least without setting a thermal shutdown in the core temp program or others that read that value. I'm on my phone right now, otherwise I'd give you some screenshots on how to do that.

Thanks for the info. I've enabled overheat protection at 52c in Core Temp to shut down if that occurs.

Been running prime95 for 3hrs 30min and the temps now are:

CPU = 61c
Core (all 6) = 47c

Don't seem to be creeping up much more. Gonna have to leave it overnight. I am a bit concerned that the CPU temp might hit the max before the core temp reaches 52c and shut off.

The temps do seem pretty stable though.

bump up your cpu nb to 1.3V.

youre safe until you hit 1.35V

And lower the vCore? Nothing needs changing at the moment if it passes the prime95 test. If anything I'd like to lower the temps.

So, 6hrs in and got the following:

CPU: 61c-63c (been changing up and down past few hrs)
Core: 48c

Now, I'm starting to get paranoid about the CPU temp. 'Typically' 7c-10c lower, but not for sure?!

Getting pretty close to the 62c cut off (presuming that's the temp for my 1055T, not sure but basing it on the lower).

Again the 62C limit is on "Core Temp". Ignore what "CPU Temp" says as "Core Temp" IS your ACTUAL temp at load.

Very nice, those temps are fine and at 15HRS your also darn stable.

Ok final results at the following BIOS settings:

Core speed = 3.71GHz

CPU HT Ref = 265
DRAM = 1413MHz
CPU/NB = 2385MHz
HT Link = 2120MHz
vCore = 1.45v
CPU/NB voltage = 1.25v

After 25hrs prime95:

CPU = 64c
Core (all 6) = 53c

So that's it I presume, shut off the test minute ago, very relieved to come home from work and the pc was still going strong and at lower temps than I imagined. Thanks coolermaster and Z7 case, and ALUCARDVPR!
