Flashing Powercolor 6950 to 6970

Thread Starter
Sorry bout the new thread. I have the twin fan version of the Powercolor 6950. Just picked it up from NCIX hoping I can unlock the shaders. Tried using winflash but im getting a subsystem error every time. Going to try RBE tonight. Has anybody had success with this card? Im a newb to GPU overclocking, but not CPU overclocking.

You might not be able to flash it because i don't think it is reference.

I think if you have a full unlock, the bios reads 6970, and you could crossfire with another 6970. My 6950 have the same spec as a 6970 though.

Hmm how do you unlock through RBE? I tried to use winflash with some modded bios I DL'd but shaders didnt unlock. Also my card has a dual bios switch, are there any risks flashing it to a 6970?

Check techpowerup.com they have the best info I found on the topic.
And of course there are risks. It's not worth trying unless its something you're already familiar with imo.
