Help With Thermal Diode Placement

First off: This post has nothing to do with my sig rig. I haven't quite built my new computer yet, which is why I still have my old rig in my signature. Anyways, this being my first build, I was naive enough to buy a DIY combo from Newegg instead of picking out the parts myself. Realizing later that my motherboard only has one CPU fan header and a system fan header, I bought myself an NZXT Sentry 2 fan controller. I need to control three fans: two in a push/pull configuration on my Antec H2O 620, and a 200mm intake at the front of my case. Ideally I would like to have them auto-adjusted by the fan controller based on the temperatures it's picking up from the built-in temperature probes. This would mean that I need to have the diodes close enough to the case of my CPU and the motor of my hard drive that the probes can read a relatively accurate temperature, and adjust the fan speed accordingly. So, my question is: How can I place the probes so that they get a fairly accurate reading of my hard drive and CPU temperatures? Also, I need to place two probes on the CPU to control my two 120mm fans.

My new rig will be composed of (in no particular order):
CM Storm Enforcer
Gigabyte GA-Z68MA-D2H-B3
Intel Core i5 2500K (going to overclock)
Antec Kuhler H2O 620 Push/Pull
Kingston HyperX 8GB (2 x 4GB) DDR3 1600
OCZ Agility 3 60GB
2 x EVGA GTX 460 SE (going to overclock)(stock cooling)
XFX 850W Core Edition
Same HDD and ODD as my sig rig
NZXT Sentry 2

I couldn't find specific enough info on the web to give me 100% confidence, so I asked here so that I could get advice on my specific situation. I have decided just to go with manual fan control, so this thread is no longer required.
