You are bottle necking for sure, remove the 920 and put this in.

There really is no point in getting a 990x at this time, get that cpu that I just showed you and save the rest for the new parts when x79 comes out.

Rofl, so 2x gtx 590's would get lower frames playing a game than one 590.
I think not mate.

The 970 was the lowest end Gulftown available and is the only one with a locked multiplier.

Sadly, it has since been discontinued:

Why on earth are you getting 990X? It's massive waste of money at this point, X79 is around the corner and will be more powerful. 990X and 920 at same clocks will be identical in performance in most games.

I figured the 902 had such good airflow and I liked having all the power in a smallER case.. so I just got it to work without having to buy a new case ...

Yeah the video cards were a bit** to fit in the case.. I have NO hard drive cages.. I just made a custom mount in my case for the HDD's
yeah well, i think i got a feeling what you'll be getting yourself for xmas this year

haha yeah, a new case!

is it really true the 990x will be the same performance with my setup as my 920 at the same clocks? That would be pretty shi**y

http://www.anandtech.com/bench/Product/99?vs=142

check out the 3 games they list there, performance is almost the same, 920@3.33ghz = 975extreme.

You should have researched more before ordering a 990X, but i dont think thats a problem for you, you seem to have a lot of cash lying around you to just order upa $1.000 bucks cpu before doing a proper research.

The 990x its only better than bloomdfield at multi-threaded apps.

the 2600K is far better than the 990X at games, and overclocks MUCH more....

About 4.3 for gulftown and 4.8 sometimes 5ghz with sandybridge.

If i were you i would cancel your order and order up Sandy Bridge, or wait until X79.

The performance boost you get from bloomfield to sandybridge aint that much.

this. 990 isnt worth it, wait for new gen intels (even if it means more hassle witg the water! ). Instead take those 1,000$ u just spent and get a kickass screen\\more screens, and a proper full tower to house the royal couple
