I just want to unscrew the cpu block and slap a new cpu in there.. I dont want to have to go through skinning my fingers with fittings and sweating my balls off all over again for 3 days to overhaul. I want to upgrade the cpu and leave my pc alone for 2 years...

Nice setup! It's OK to see something different now and then and it gives me ideas on how to setup my rig. I might do things a little different but it gives one a fresh perspective on how to cram 10lbs of poo in a 5lb package!

Your rig would look better if you did a little cable management plus re-route the fan wiring on the rads. Otherwise.....nice

ok just because I dont post in forums does not mean I dont understand tech... I understand tech just fine and I picked my own PC parts.. This is my 4th PC i've built. I have read all of RaginCains GTX 590 Threads months ago and I have even customized my 590's bios to raise the voltage to OC them more. I am so familiar with tech that I know and have researched sandy bridge bandwidth bottlenecks with 4 gpu's and have seen the performance drop comparison in relation to X58. I also have enough knowledge to understand that the comparisons done between the 990x and the 2600k in games I have been linked are older games that support 4 cores max. Newer games such are BFBC2 and Battlefield 3 support 6 physical cores at which a 990x would be superior.

For those of you saying I wasted my money at my res on TWO 590's. Since I OWN two 590's and I have actually used them, I have also many times Tried running just one of them, and no, FOR ME, I was not satisfied with the performance of just one.

Thank you to all of you who have been helpful. There are always a few kids who think if it were them spending their Christmas money from their parents, they would be more cost effective. We are not all in your situation thankfully.

just an update.. I got my new cpu and i accidentally bent pins in my motherboards socket xD so I had to get a new motherboard anyway!

got a Gigabyte G1 guerilla motherboard and stuck my new 990x in there with my watercooling setup.

Temps really amaze me with this thing..

I bumped up the voltage right away to intels max safe voltage for 32nm (1.375v) and I got a nice 4.51ghz core and 3400mhz uncore out of it stable. Temps max in at 68c and idle in the mid 30's. Played left for dead 2 and battlefield bad company 2 and the max reported temp was 58c! my i7 920 used to hit high 60's in a game.

Def. got performance increases too.. in battlefield bad company 2, my fps went up from 90-140fps to 180-200fps.. not that it matters in that game, but im just showing that there is a noticeable performance increase that I have seen in other more demanding games too.

Thanks so much for the help guys!

Congrats (not on the pin bending X( ) I hope you really enjoy it Post it in the owner's thread if you haven't Plenty of knowledgeable people to help tweak it beyond belief. I even believe I have been dethroned!
