Shogun 2 takes 2GB+ of VRAM@1080p, not even considering other titles like BF2 ranging from 1.2-1.5GB. Also, this stems from the fact that ANY sandbox type of game, like shogun 2/TW is going to be a resource hog.

Why even suggest GPUs(<1GB range) in a price/performance ratio that wont provide the FPS in upcoming titles?
its been shown in multiple reviews that 6870 xfire with 1gb vram is more than capable of supplying playable frames. metro is known for having high demands and they still perform very well.

How much a game loads into the vram doesn't equate into how much vram the game needs at any given moment.

I get a nice 40-50 FPS on the horrible metro map with a lot higher indoors, but after trying out Caspian today for the first time I get mid-20's. WTH.

And oddly, I can monitor the GPU usuage and it's maxed in Metro but only runs mid 40% in Caspian.

I hope this is driver or beta related. Otherwise, I can't play the game with those settings. My setting are on mostly high and I've turned down a couple.

Anybody have this issue?

edit: CPU is unlocked to 4core at 3.2 ghz.

I can't even seem to play stable with full screen using crossfire. Windowed mode? Totally fine on Ultra with great FPS.

Full screen? Artifacts/tearing and eventually full lock up.

For Some reason I noticed a serious increase in FPS in BF3 in the last day or so.... I did upgrade to 11.10 Preview 2 though

Oh, and crossfire 6870's will be more than enough to max this game out. Everyone is being over dramatic because they want an excuse to sooth their buyer's remorse after buying another GTX 580....
