Computer powers on, but no display. - Page 2

How can you tell that your computer isn't posting? I mean, are you going by the observation that you're getting no signal on your monitor? Have you verified that the monitor is (still) working? And that the cable isn't damaged?

Have you tried the on-board video? I know you mentioned that you tried booting without the gpu installed, but I'm not sure if you connected your monitor via the onboard video. Pretty simple, and I'm assuming you tried it already, but it's worth a shot to mention.
edit--Is there on-board video? I assumed that since SB has its IGP that it would, but looking at the connectors on that mobo, I don't see any video-out connectors.

I checked, it is soldered to the motherboard.

Yes, I am assuming it isn't posting based on my observation that no signal reaches the monitor (besides a failure to POST, or a GPU problem, what else could it be?). The monitor does work, I have tested it on this computer. I also used this computer's old 9400 GT to see if it was a GPU issue. I still received no signal. I haven't tried without a GPU (see below).

P67 boards don't have onboard video; I have begun to wonder if I should have purchased a Z68.

I tested the PSU and monitor using a different computer, and they worked. If anyone else has any ideas as to something I should check or attempt before I head back to Microcenter (where I bought the motherboard/cpu), I would gladly give your suggestion a try.

No, I haven't -- I don't have different RAM -- but I have tried both sticks singularly in each slot. I'm thinking my motherboard or CPU is bad (leaning toward motherboard).

Thanks for the suggestion.

edit: I bought the RAM at Microcenter, too, so I'll be taking that with me.

* Edit2: Problem solved. Updated first post.
