I just got me 2x 6950 xfx 2gb non reference, so they can't be unlocked. When I oced the max it allow me in msi afterburner is 840core. Is this the highest this card can handle?

No you can go a lot higher. Afterburner limits for card preservation reasons. Must be deactivated. Read this...

Heres the step you need to do.

Step 2: Download GPUTool to an accessible folder and run it. Download MSI Afterburner (even if you already have Afterburner on your PC make sure you have it updated to the latest version). Navigate to the folder you installed it to (usually C:\Program Files (x86)\MSI Afterburner) and open the MSIAfterburner.cfg file using Wordpad. Find the following setting:

Code:
UnofficialOverclockingEULA
UnofficialOverclockingMode
and change (or add) it to:

Code:
UnofficialOverclockingEULA = I confirm that I am aware of unofficial overclocking limitations and fully understand that MSI will not provide me any support on it
UnofficialOverclockingMode = 1

Awesome it worked. Now any idea what is a good safe voltage to stay under? I tried 1.2 with 900 core and it crashes right away.
