Best 120gb SSD at the moment?

Thread Starter
A friend of mine is looking to build a new pc and he was thinking of going with a Corsair 120gb force series 3. I told him not to as of all the sandforce problems that exist (and I've experience them). Are the drives still full of bugs and what's another good 120gb SSD with about the same specs and price (uk)?

Crucial M4.

The OCZ drives are ment to be "fixed" by the firmware, however the Forces require recall to fix the PCB. I think you're mate should play safe and get the M4.

I think the C300s have better 4k times which are more important, but the sequential speeds on the M4 are faster, but that doesn't matter as much in my opinion. You will do far more 4k reads/writes than any other and that is still why I got a C300 over an M4.

009 firmware puts the M4 on top of the c300 with 4k scores.

As much as Corsair keeps releasing firmware updates it isn't fixing the issue, play safe and get a reliable drive like the Crucial M4.

Sandforce has redone the firmware for OCZ 5 times since the original. I think they've only done it twice for Corsair now. I'm not sure if others like Kingston, Mushkin etc have even gotten one update yet. But they all suffer from the same bsod bug.

I wonder how many of these top notch vendors will go back to Sandforce in the next generation after the current fiasco?
