Laptop Keyboard Acting REALLY Funky

Thread Starter
So I've been using a separate keyboard for my laptop for the last week (a Filco, if it matters at all). Well today I decided to unplug the keyboard and try the laptop keyboard and it's been doing some seriously funky things. Most of the keys seem fine, however, some keys on the right hand side like 'I' or 'K' will instead be typed as '*' or '7' or some other random characters.

Any idea what the problem might be? The keyboard was working fine before I started using a separate keyboard and I've never spilled any liquids on it or anything.

usually its because overheat components that make laptops'keyboard act weird. I saw this happen a lot with models that are slim like the old XPS 1330 Try the simplest thing right now: lift the bottom of the laptop a little bit, give it a 10 minutes and try again. See if its better or fixed with better ventilation.

I've left it turned off for about 20 minutes and the problem is still there. I've noticed now that most of the keys on the right hand side are being typed as numbers. ***...

FYI, I have a Samsung QX410

Sounds like you have the hardware level Num Lock Key on, press FN and the key with the blue "num lock" (or square symbol with about 9 dots in it), mine is FN F11
