Racing Game Aracde System.

Hi! I want to build an arcade system. It is about 2 thousand dollars cheaper to build one by myself than to buy one. What do I need?????? I'm thinking of running NFS:HP, NHS:W,NHS:C on Max at 1080 with 5 or 7 screens. I know it may seem like I am a troll but no. My dad converted our basement into a mancave, but it isn't complete without a 2-3 arcade systems.

Build:

Where did you hear that you can do this?
I'm not saying you can't, but I assume you got the idea from somewhere else (especially with the $2,000 cheaper calculation).
I, personally, haven't heard of this being done, but I'd love to see it.

EDIT:
Googled and found some good stuff
http://www.popsci.com/gear-gadgets/a...our-own-arcade
http://www.maximumpc.com/article/fea...cabinet_old_pc

Obviously it's more common than I thought, but I'm not sure how easy it is to change some of these designs to add a steering wheel (presumably your first choice of controller) or all those monitors...
On the subject of the monitors, is there anything we could do to discourage you from getting 5/6 monitors? That will obviously jack up the price (unless you're comparing it to other cabinets that have 5/6 monitors and I don't really think it would be worth it to have all those monitors for just those games.

9 Grand for an 80's arcade system.

See my edited comment for more, but this will probably be a bit different than an 80's arcade system.
If you want to spend 2k less than the 9k you saw for an 80's cabinet would that mean your price limit is 7k?

It would be a lot more difficult as far as I know to do a 5 - 7 monitor set up. 3 monitors would be more realistic. You'd need a killer pc to get smooth frame rates, a nice car seat, frame, a good racing wheel, and you could build a cabinet to go around this stuff of just make it an all metal tube frame.

Prices are all over the place. Brand new you're talking about down-payment on a house per machine, especially if it's a driving game. I think the new InitialD sells for $40,000. Used, you can find them for under $2,000.
