I use 23x 174blck and only need 1.250v with a cooler master v8 and stay under 76c under load. The 23x is much easier to use than 21x. I've tried 20x 200 and that needed 1.325v and was hitting 85c, and it wasn't really any faster. I use autodesk inventor suite 2012 and that's multi threaded and uses all 8 threads when creating 3d models and rendering video/pictures.

23x 174 is real easy compared to the other settings. On my tech bench at home on water i had a 950 running at 4.44ghz and under 80c load, but i don't have those bios settings any more.

What kind of cooling you using?

Hi,

Its one thing to set everything up for high clocks and be able to boot into
Win and play around a little.

Its another thing get it stable for the long run and heavy load use when
you need it.

Nothing like having it come crashing down when time invested in work app ect.
or having to save it every so often because your worried.

See alot of clocks stated, that, if were run thru an hour or two of even Prime Blend or Lynx wouldn't hold up.

Use (Others) settings as a base to start but not set in stone.
All setups different even if using identical hardware and software.
I've setup the 9xx series chips from 920/co/c1(The worst), thru the 960 and all
setup pretty much the same as to settings.
Six cores different as to archeticture and heat.

And the only difference between the 930 and 950 is the extra multi, which is the turbo mode and a higher default setting.
When it comes to OC and difference means Squat as to capability.
And if you research you will find most using the 21x on the 950 chip very well.

The 930 chip is also a newer chip than the 950 not that it makes any difference
at all.

My 950 has been running 4.0ghz for over 8 months now.
--------------------------------------------------------------------------------

intell data sheets list max voltages for i7 900 series as
CPU Core - 1.55
CPU VTT - 1.35
Stay under these and try to get it stable with the lowest voltage you can.
I have my I7-950 running 4.0ghz 24/7 stable ( its running great! ). Here are my numbers hope its a little help to you!

Running 23x175 only needs 1.250v. Running 21x191 needs .075v more in your case. I've seen nothing noticeable between the to settings to make it worth using 21x191. It seems a lot of you with 950's just follow the 930's overclocking guilds. If you running on air, I would op for using the 23x175 and way less Vcore. It will run a lot cooler at 1.25v vs 1.325v. Could be your chip, but trying the different overclocks with my chip needed a lot more Vcore at 21x191 and 20x200.

This system has been running like this since the 950's came out and I beat the hell out of this chip at work using Autodesk Inventor 2012 suite and it uses all threads and maxes my cpu out at 100% all the time and will max it out for 30mins on huge renders.
