You have to cater to your main audience, which is consoles. That is what he saying, he did not 'abandon' you.
Profits is just an excuse to make a lazy port.

Console gamers will buy pretty much anything that looks remotely good. Last I checked, consoles run on hardware that never changes, making it easy to develop for them.

If you're going to make a multi-platform game, the most logical thing to do is put the most effort into the platform that's the hardest to develop for which is the PC. Cater to consoles if you want, don't give PC the backseat just because it's not the most profitable for your game. You either do a proper PC version, or don't do one at all.

All I'm asking for is a proper PC game, not the port he launched.

Why would they put the most resources in PC when it generates the lowest return? you sir are a terrible business man.

As much as I love PC if my business was making games, I would be targeting Consoles. Anybody would that want's to maximize their bottom line. Its economics not my dislike for any one platform.

Yes, optimizing a game for a GPU that is that ancient is 'easier' than developing a game on a GPU that is 10x more powerful. A CPU that thinks faster. Extra VRAM to optimize textures easily.

No, it's harder for them to develop on consoles, and that's why their time is spent there. We get sloppy seconds because porting to us is easier.

just like Ubisoft's self-fulfilling prophecy.

Its actually easier working with consoles because everyone is using the same tech and they have had 5 years experience working with this tech. While on PC everyone has different configurations. Why dont you blame the hardware manufacturers who sell us these 300$ videocards while not contributing anything back to pc gaming. PS has Sony, xbox has MS but there is no one watching PCs back.

One might even go as far to say that their lead platform is the iphone since rage was on ios much earlier. The sad part is that it's actually more fun on the iphone (which is not saying much).

I was more referring to the fact that they have to squeeze graphics capability out of a system that is 6 years old. It isn't as easy as working with Nvidia/AMD to develop a multi-GPU optimized game.

Yeah, I agree though. Maybe Razer will save us all? lolol
