EXSi v.s. Hyper-V - Page 2

I use ESXi on My Server at work and love it. I tried Hyper-V also but wasnt too impressed with it. The ESXi you can fix the datastore access speeds, if you bridge two network cards, I cant remember the details now, if you wish pm me. The only advantage I can see to Hyper-V, if you have the Hyper-V running as a feature on Windows 2008 R2, you can do other things with that machine, while ESXi the server is standalone and need another machine to manage it, once again not a big deal. And also ESXi is work solid, very stable!!. Have a quick look at their hardware support list, and please be careful when choosing the NICs

I use VMware at work, I manage about 15 hosts and 40 VM's. Very stable and most of the issues I have happen at the guest (Windows) or storage (NetApp) level, never had any serious problems at the actual hypervisor level. * knocks on wood*

I will also be setting up a workstation 8 install on my dekstop with nested ESXi VM's that host about 15 guests for studying and personal software dev. Storage will be handled by iSCSI targets on a NAS device.

I've never used Hyper-V but I have used VMware since 2007 when I started working with VMware Workstation.
