The screen is going to look better than your SGSII, it's as simple as that, will it look alot better? Probably not. You can't expect Sammy to put an inferior screen in their flagship phone.
At what point is it no longer a phone and really just a miniature tablet?

It is rumored that the size of the prime wont be any bigger than the sgs2, due to the fact of the removal of the physical buttons, while the screen will cover their place getting half an inch more in length..

Im kinda in the same boat only I have to swap my dads crappy lg with the one Im using now and get a new phone. Its between the Amaze, S2, or Prime. I want Prime but nobody knows if or when its coming. If the Prime doesnt come to tmobile then I will just get the S2. Really wish they would say somthing instead of letting us twist in the wind.

I meant it won't be considered a phone when it doesn't fit in your pocket, not that the phone won't fit in your pocket.

I wish they'd at least let us know about carriers, if Sprint or T Mo don't have it I'm going Galaxy S2.

Question guys, wont the Exynos run circles around the OMAP in the Prime? Or will the differences ONLY be pronounced in gaming?

I'd say mostly in gaming. Since there is hardware acceleration in Ice Cream Sandwich, GPU may play a part, but if it's the OMAP 4460 with the SGX540 at 384MHZ, that GPU at those clocks should only be abit slower then the Mali GPU in Exynos. I'd estimate it would be like a Core i7 2600K at 4.5GHZ with a GTX 570 vs a core i7 2600K at 4.8GHZ with a GTX 580. The CPU"s in both chips are both A9 chips, except 4460 is clocked at 1.5GHZ.

Well my main concern is the lag between apps. Not gaming.

I don't expect or want amazing graphics on my phone.

So the GENERAL purpose calculation performance is about the same?

I'd say so yes. The GPU performance if the 4460 is used is not THAT far behind Exynos, I'd say around 6-8 FPS less in games. So, switching between/launching apps with the two should be no difference.

Not sure if this has been answered, there will be a GSM version, which will work with AT&T, T-Mobile.
