Wrong. The 2500k is faster clock for clock and has a higher frequency than the 920/30.

I know...I wasn't comparing clock for clock...

I am talking about cinebench 11.5 scores though...I should have stated that. I actually tested it myself. tongue.gif

The i7 has the extra threads that help in those types of tasks.

Aside from being new tech the op will see little to no difference from his current setup.

You probably wouldn't see a difference between a 4.8GHz 2500k vs a 4.2GHz 920/930. In games, they don't make a difference. Although with certain applications, the 920/930 would win because of its HT. I wouldn't upgrade unless you see some deterioration of your CPU.

Made the move from 920 @ 4.4Ghz/X58A-UD7/6GB DDR3 to 2500K @ 4.8Ghz/Z68X-UD4/8GB. I did not lose any money. In fact i made $35. Now i have extra 2GB of RAM, fast CPU for games, much cooler CPU (20C). Only downside i could think of HT but i rarely used it with the 920 so i lost nothing. If you are spending extra money in top like 100+ more dont do it.

Wow, four posts by others and no one caught that. I thought you meant to put your 1366 platform instead of your current 1155 mb and cpu. But your post just didn't make sense to me. Glad I made things clear for yah thumb.gif
