[MobileMedia] Google Postpone Nexus Prime to Respect Jobs - Page 12

They should just release it

If Apple aren't bothered and are releasing the 4S, I dont see why any other company should hold releases.

This is why I think they are stalling. ICS is probably not ready for prime time.

Why are they launching a phone Oct 13th? Shouldn't this be delayed out of respect for Steve Jobs?

I agree they're not being completely forthcoming here. I'd wager it simply isn't ready yet.

What a load of BS, just goes to show people will believe anything their told. Why the hell would a competitor (one of the biggest) delay something that big to respect the CEO of the rival company...how does it respect him? Jobs was an innovator of technology. Just don't see how delaying a product is in any way paying tribute to him...does Samsung want us all to buy iPhone 4s to remember Steve Jobs???

I don't understand why people were disappointed after apples announcement of the iPhone 4S. Apple has always been about the user experience, I've always said you need about 10 minutes with a iPhone and you pretty much have all it's functions down. It is incredible easy, why do you think so many people prefer it? You gota remember there are tons of technologically challenged people who have a hard enough time figuring out how a Nokia dumb phone works...you really expect them to pick up an Android powered handset? Not to mention the new voice command feature, sure android has it already but Apple is the one marketing it to sell their phones.

Truth of the matter is apple has announced a phone with CURRENT hardware!!! Even an 8mp shooter, I know I know...mp mean nothing, but in the market we are talking about (NOT DSLR cameras....PHONE cameras) MP pretty much mean everything at this point in time.

Nexus S, the first phone put out by Samsung under the Nexus brand. It was supposed to follow in the foot step of the Nexus One as in set a new standard for cellular phones. At the time, the N1 was simply seen as the future. It is still a very capable handset today...however it was built by HTC.

This is the second handset under the flagship Nexus name to be produced by the company. Now, we all know what a failure the Nexus S turned out to be.

Does it not stand to reason they did the same thing again, not using top of the line hardware...but instead settling for good enough? Let's not forget Samsung has their own money-making line of Galaxy phones.

I don't know about the rest of you, a dead man should be respected. To use an unfortunate situation to their advantage is just pathetic.

First, you're confusing "inventive" with "innovated." Steve Jobs saw what people wanted before they even knew they wanted it. Execs and bankers scoffed at Apple early on for wanting to make Personal Computers. Guess what happened?

Jobs had a tremendous amount of input into every product Apple made, and didn't just sit in some office making money like most CEO's. He was in the engineering labs, design labs, etc.

Even Steve Wozniak, co-founder of Apple has said "Steve would ask if I could do THIS and I'd tell him 'yeah, sure, in a couple of years.'

Anyway, back on topic. If this Nexus Prime is of better build quality and features than the Nexus, I'd definitely consider getting one. As it stands, the Nexus S wasn't that much of an upgrade from the Nexus One, which is still a sexy handset.

It's always amusing when someone on this forum calls someone else a "nerd." You sir are a nerd with your custom built PC and Captivate.

Also if jobs weren't around, its pretty damn certain someone else would have done it. He wasn't a god.

The only difference is we wouldn't have apple around to sue every android manufacturer.

I suspect people with this particular set of feelings will also be the people who have never created anything, and especially not anything meaningful.

Its quite possible that no-one would ever have the vision to create multitouch gesture based phone and the control of billions of $ of R&D to make it happen in market changing way.
