[MobileMedia] Google Postpone Nexus Prime to Respect Jobs - Page 9

Thing is, iPhone 4S still doesn't have a big enough advantage over the Galaxy SII for the need to release a better phone, once Apple/another competitor releases something that is better than the SII they'll release the nexus and maintain their spot as the best smartphone :\\ smart

The truth is, with the death of Steve Jobs, it would be bad for Google to release this phone at this moment, for many reasons, among them:

* It won't get the attention it should have because all the eyes are still on Jobs's death and the discussion of the company's future is still ongoing among fans.
* A lot of people might think releasing it now will be politically incorrect and disrespectful to Apple and its now defunct leader (fanboys be female doggin' yo).
* They want to avoid a PR hell.
* They can get more sales after people try the iPhone 4S and see this new device with better specs (both in Hardware and Software).

I, for one, support Google on this decision.

No better way to have people focus his life than have a portion of a highly anticipated event, like the once which was canceled on Oct 11, dedicated to him!

Honestly as noble as this sounds, it's probably a very business-directed decision. Right now everyone has Apple on their minds, me included, and a flashy new Android isn't going to be as powerful as a few weeks down the road.

I wanted to add to my earlier post where I said I didn't buy what Google was doing. I don't mean to hate on them, I think they're a great company. I know people who work there afterall. So on some level I do think it was being respectful. But at the end of the day it was a business decision.

When Michael Jackson died did they not release any music that week? That month?

I had to log in to say ^. I didn't and still don't like Steve Jobs but have an immense amount of respect for him as an entrepreneur and idealist. What he envisioned help shape the world of technologies and american business. What I did appreciate about him was his passion for success and always striving to be the best and wanting nothing less than the best from those at Apple.

His presence in the tech world will be missed.

I'm pretty sure Google will regret its decision once Apple slaps 1000 lawsuits for copyright infringements on the phone

People whining about some stupid phone not being released. Just shows how out of touch people are with humanity. It's just a phone... This give to me now attitude is disheartening.

I found it interesting that the Iphone 4S was released then Steve Jobs died the next day.....Call it fate or whatever but I think Steve held on until the official press release of the 4S...once it was done he was able to let go...Just my
