[EVGA] EVGA rolls out with exclusive Best Buy graphics cards - Page 9

As others said, it's nice to have a BB in your area when there's nothing else around in an emergency and you can't wait for shipping. Then again, I've had numerous people suggest I get things from them and I'll gladly do just as good if not better (or pay less) through Newegg just about all the time.

Interestingly though, BB's prices aren't *that* insane compared to Newegg's I suppose... well, except for the 550.

Just looked: BTW, the model #s at Newegg and BB don't quite match up yet but you can find something comparable at any rate.

Newegg 520 2GB = $70 -$10 rebate
BB 520 2GB = $90

Newegg 550 2GB = $170 -$20 rebate
BB 520 2GB = $200

Newegg 560 2GB = $245 -$20 rebate
BB 560 2GB = $260

Compared to off-sale Newegg prices though, surpisingly not too bad.

That...would be a dream come true.

I will never forget the first time I walked into a Microcenter...I heard this voice say to me "Remove thine shoes...thou dost tread on holy ground" and I replied "Shut the *bleep* up, I am trying to compare these eight mother boards."

Still...if I can't have a Microcenter or Fry's a 10 minute drive away it would be nice if Best Buy stepped it up and actually became a source for hardware that wasn't extremely overpriced. I have bought a hard drive from Best Buy once that was a good price, but it came with a one year warranty. (It worked fine...still is a few years later, but it was obvisously an OEM overstock or something.)

I still don't like EVGA messing with BestBuy...one of my favorite companies is dealing with one of my most hated companies.

Personally, Best Buy has been hit or miss with me. I got my 4890 there two years ago for $120. I also got my H50 for $40 a few months ago.

Granted most of the folks working there are pretty computer illiterate and that greatly disturbs me. When I bought my 4890 there, they asked if I wanted them to install it. When I said no, they then proceeded to tell me that if I did it myself, I'd void the warranty. The company isn't ALL bad. They just need people more in touch with the market they claim to target higher up in the chain.

I dunno, considering that a 1GB model runs for about 170 CAD, 2GB shouldn't be all that much more; maybe 200 CAD for the 2GB model. But hay, it isn't a ridiculous price like 100 CAD for a 6200le PCI card.

their GTX 560ti 2GB is actually cheaper than the same card on Newegg....what gives? I hate best buy, but those prices are great

That's what i wanna know why? I'm tempted to walk down to BB tomorrow and tell them why is their label on website claiming it's a GTX 560Ti when it's REALLY not? I would need more proof like opening the box otherwise the box suppose to SAY gtx 560Ti? Anyone got BB? Go by there please. I would like to see the back of the box. And even ask the customer service and see what they have to say? Anyone got balls?

This is the first time I have ever seen anything from Best Buy that isnt WAY overpriced.
