DRM will never go away and will only get more and more annoying. I personally would love it when a DRM comes around that stops piracy period but that probably wont happen, but this drm sounds like it could come close.
If what I'm reading about this DRM is correct, then basically you only install bits of the game needed ( Textures, models, etc ), but the actual game content ( Quests, weapons, npcs, etc ), are streamed to you like an MMO. If it works like that then a strong connection isn't needed.
Anything to stop developers from doing crappy ports all because of piracy is fine with me, as long as the DRM doesn't suck and limit your installs or w/e.
