Problem with CPU speed showing in windows

Thread Starter
Ok so I just got a p55 gd85 and applied my overclock settings from the p55a fuzion(tested and stable) and once I got into windows my cpu gadget reads my overclock at 4.2 when its just 4.0. Speedstep and C1E are both off of course. In cpuz my clock reads 4.0 as it should but my problem is fixing this so my windows reads my correct cpu speed. Any help would be much appreciated.

it might just be a software issue. CPUZ is generally right. also download coretemp it shows your CPU speed too

crackzattic, is the default shipping multi of your chip 9? than that kinda makes sense since 400*9=3600.

shame, default multi 21?
200*21=4200.

If you wanna fix it, change multi to default i guess...

It's because Windows in a lot of cases reads the stock multiplyer.

I had this issue with my q6600 which was 400*8. It's read at 3.6, when it was 3.2.

I don't have this problem with my 960, though. It's stock multiplier is 24 I believe, and I run it at 191*21 and windows reads it correctly. :S
